15. March 2022 According to the Ministry of Labor, Ukrainian refugees are to be granted immediate access to the Austrian labor market in all sectors.
The prerequisite is registration with the Ministry of the Interior, combined with a displaced person’s ID card. However, implementation will still take a few days or possibly weeks. After that, an employer can apply to the job centre for an employment permit “ex officio”, which will not incur any costs or long waiting periods. The employment permit is to be issued immediately.
The nostrification process of foreign certificates should also be quick.
